Join Justice Leaders Collaborative as we virtually host New York Times bestselling author of Raising White Kids, Jennifer Harvey to discuss her new book Anti-Racism as Daily Practice: Refuse Shame, Change White Communities, & Help Create a Just World.
Following this chance to meet the author, JLC Facilitators (Lois McCullen Parr, Autumn Campbell & EJ McGaughy) will hold a book study for 5-sessions specifically for White people to guide you step-by-step through the practices in the book so that you can show up in more anti-racist ways.

LARA Required Implicit Bias Training Workshop: For Initial Licensure and License Renewal - FULL
LARA requires online Michigan Implicit bias training. This 3-hour interactive “Implicit Bias” workshop meets the requirements from the Michigan Bureau of Professional Licensing for health care professionals. This training is now required for initial licensure and license renewal. Our workshop covers all of the requirements just added to the Public Health Code-General Rules R 338.7704 standards.

Interrupting Bias and Bigotry Workshop
Interrupting Bias and Bigotry” is an opportunity for participants to practice the skills of interrupting microaggressions and biased comments and learn how to apologize for their own mistakes with reparative accountability. Participants will increase their comfort and skill in showing up for justice.

At this time in our nation, we are witnessing an alarming resurgence of white supremacy and state sanctioned violence. It is imperative that white people do the deep work required to claim and embody an anti-racist identity, understand the privilege they carry, and interrupt racism where they live, work, study, and volunteer.
Outcomes
Participants will come to understand:
movements for racial justice in the U.S.
white privilege and unearned advantage
develop skills to claim and shape an anti-racist identity
practice the skills of interrupting racism
develop networks of support and accountability
